Ahmed Sirour – The After 2AM Sessions

Ahmed SirourI’ve listened to musician, producer, composer, and arranger Ahmed Sirour for months now and so far I’ve enjoyed all of his work. He has several great remixes under his belt, including John Legend and The Roots’ Shine, Eric Roberson’s Still, and most recently, Stevie Wonder’s My Cherie Amour. I’ll admit that I have exceptionally high expectations for remixes, especially those that cover my favorite artists. Ahmed meets those expectations very well. Today I have an ever greater appreciation for his craft after listening to his debut instrumental EP, The After 2AM Sessions. Ahmed says the EP was made with the listener in mind and I couldn’t agree more. It more than lives up to its romantic, reflective, and spiritual descriptions, so much so that I purchased it after hearing just a few snippets.

Check out the sampler below and head over to Ahmed’s Bandcamp page to purchase the EP, which comes with three bonus tracks.
