Singer/songwriter Colie Williams says that she creates music to lift, inspire, and share her truth. The Bronx, New York native took her gift to Syracuse University and later performed with the Kennedy Center for Performing Arts. As is the case with many talented artists, it’s hard to connect Colie to just one genre. She notes that her music is inspired by both jazz and soul artists like Ella Fitzgerald, Nat King Cole, Donny Hathaway, and Billie Holiday. Colie has blended those influences with her style to create her debut album, Light Up the Darkness, which is receiving great reviews.
Colie has a busy summer ahead, as she will appear on the new NBC show All Night with Joey Reynolds and will be a panelist at the Bristol Indie Soul Mixer in the UK in June. Check out her song In and Out of Love below and look for Light Up the Darkness on iTunes.
