Blackstar by Yahzarah

I’m in a neo-soul mood this week so I’m suggesting Blackstar by Yahzarah. This D.C. native is a classically trained vocalist and sang backup for Erykah Badu. Her Blackstar album was released in 2003 and it definitely shows her talent by featuring several good tracks, including Wishing, which is one of my favorites on the album.

If you’re looking for more recent music from Yahzarah, (her latest release, The Prelude is good), try your search using her new stage name, Purple Saint James. In the meantime, be sure to check out Blackstar and let me know what you think.
